A Night to Remember
Día de los Muertos at Sol y Luna … an unforgettable evening of food, color, and cultural pride.
Sol y Luna owner, Nieves, who makes the magic happen
Our Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) party at Sol y Luna was anything but dead.
More than 100 friends and neighbors gathered to honor the lives of loved ones who have passed … and to cheer on the Dodgers in their come-from-behind win in Game 7 to triumph over the Toronto Blue Jays this year’s World Series.
The evening was an eclectic mix of marigolds and Dodger blue along with over the top decorations for the traditional Mexican celebration, accompanied by a live DJ, dancing, cheering, massive trays and plates of Mexican cuisine, and – yep – plenty of margaritas, cold beer, and other festive cocktails perfect for a lively celebration.
Two talented face painters kept busy for hours transforming nearly all of the guests into La Catrina or El Catrín … two of whom were rewarded for their best costumes with gift cards, specialty glassware, and a bottle of wine to take home.
Regardless of whether guests were there for the game or the celebration, everyone seemed to have a great time and there was already talk about repeating this again next year. Don’t miss it!
