A Fresh Seat at the Neighborhood Table
Sonder Belcourt brings bright flavors, sunny windows, and a welcoming place to gather just in time for spring in Seven Oaks.
A trio of deliciousness
Sonder Belcourt is Seven Oaks’ newest option for eating out in the neighborhood, and if you haven’t been there yet, stop what you’re doing, take this edition with you, and finish reading it right there – over one of their amazing menu choices and a signature libation.
We’ve all been anticipating the opening of Sonder’s second location, and once you visit, you’ll love what owners Ryan and Desi Melochoe have created for Seven Oaks.
Thankfully, the restaurant is spacious and surrounded by windows, creating a fresh, bright atmosphere. You’ll find comfortable tables and booths, along with a few cozy chairs and sofas – perfect options for lingering over a bottle of wine, enjoying an intimate dinner, or gathering with a larger group of friends.
I met a group of friends there during their soft opening in January, and we did some serious damage to their mouthwatering appetizers – from their signature bruschetta and the ever-popular lamb lollipops to the grilled artichoke and garlic parmesan fries. We followed that up by sharing outstanding entrées like truffle sacchetti, a perfectly seasoned New York steak, scallops, and more.
The evening wouldn’t have been complete without a few of their signature drinks, including the Sonder Old Fashioned, a watermelon margarita, and an impressive espresso martini. Their extensive beer selection, growing wine list, and lineup of whiskeys and bourbons made it easy to keep everyone at the table happy.
A few days later, I stopped back in to check out their lunch options and discovered that Sonder opens at 8 a.m. daily, offering a welcoming breakfast menu with favorites like omelets and avocado toast. I even ran into several neighbors already settled in, enjoying brunch and catching up with friends – always a good sign.
By the time you read this, Sonder will have refined and expanded their menu, which means plenty more trips to discover what’s new, and the weather will likely – and finally – move beyond our foggy winter, making their outdoor seating an even better place to linger.
In addition to dining in, Sonder will also be offering catering services – which, if you ask me, sounds like the perfect excuse for a scrumptious dinner party or a very well-fed corporate gathering.
Bottom line: if you haven’t been yet, it’s high time you wander into Sonder and enjoy a dining experience that will bring you back again and again.
