Sabo Physical Therapy Puts Precision, Performance, and People First

Assessing movement for a patient

“We see people get better and that is really fun,” says Krista Sabo, a Board-Certified Sports Specialist and Physical Therapist. She’s seen the difference for herself. “When someone comes in on crutches or in a wheelchair and weeks later, they leave the clinic and go back to the sport that they want to do, that is incredibly rewarding.”

She opened her clinic to provide something different than the other physical therapy clinics in town. Frustrated by a model that prioritized volume over individualized care, she chose to step away from overloaded schedules and create a space where every patient receives her full attention.

Together with fellow Physical Therapist and Board-Certified Sports Specialist Geovanni Sandoval, Krista opened a practice centered on one-on-one care, shared decision-making, and evidence-based treatment plans designed around each patient’s specific goals. With just the two of them in the clinic, every session is patient-focused, never rushed and never cookie-cutter.

“Our purpose is to work with patients individually and give them the advice and education that they need to get better,” says Krista.

Located inside Mahanke Sports Performance and Fitness, Sabo Physical Therapy benefits from full access to a complete gym setup and works closely with trainers to coordinate care and optimize results. “We enjoy what we do, and that makes the environment fun,” Krista says.

Athletes and Beyond
Sabo Physical Therapy specializes in working with athletes of all kinds, including youth, high school, college, and professional athletes, as well as active adults who want to stay pain-free and competitive in the activities they love.

“I love sports and everything competitive,” says Krista. She and Geovanni have a heart for athletes and want to see them succeed on and off the field. That’s why they love what they do. Whether someone is returning to sport after ACL surgery, training for a marathon, or simply looking to move better and perform stronger, the approach remains the same: identify what matters most to the patient and build a plan to get them there.

One area where the practice truly stands out is return-to-sport assessment and injury prevention, particularly following ACL reconstruction. With a high rate of re-injury after surgery, Krista and Geovanni focus on comprehensive evaluations that include strength, force production, plyometrics, running, jumping, conditioning, and endurance. These assessments help determine whether an athlete is truly ready to return to their sport safely, not just cleared on paper.

The clinic also offers running assessments for runners of all distances, as well as performance-based physical therapy for individuals who may not be in pain but want to improve movement, efficiency, and overall performance. “If you want to get better, you have to incorporate change into your routine,” Krista notes. “We don’t believe in doing the same exercises every session and feeling stuck in a cycle that isn’t challenging.”

Stay Active
Life is too short to live with pain or not do the things that you love.

“Listen to your body,” says Krista. “If something is bothering you, it should be addressed. Staying active is vital to health and longevity. Don’t let pain keep you from being active.”

Sabo Physical Therapy’s mission is simple yet powerful: “To provide physical therapy treatment and guidance based on the individual’s specific goals and the best available evidence.” The results are real, helping people reduce pain, restore movement, and get back to what they love. Play with your grandchildren on the floor, sign up for pickleball, or enjoy a leisurely game of golf without pain.

Do you need a referral? Nope. In California, patients benefit from direct access, meaning physical therapy evaluations and treatment can begin without a physician referral.
