On September 13, 2025, Kern Athletic Fencing Foundation held its 5th Annual En Garde Gala at Luigi's Wearhouse venue in East Bakersfield, titled: Rise of the Stars Gala. The purpose of this annual fundraising event is to support our programs, which include Parafencing, fencing for children with cognitive issues, and able-bodied fencing. 

  

The event included fencing demonstrations and recognition for our parafencers, Kevin Reeve and MariaIsabel Hinds. Both are on the path to becoming members of the USA Paralympic squad for the LA2028 Paralympic Games. 

  

The fun-filled program included live music performance by members of Kern Athletic Fencing Foundation, fencing and Parafencing demonstrations, and participation by the 501st Garrison of Star Wars reenactors. The Bakersfield Title Holders assisted with the program and the silent auction. 

  

This year, the fundraiser was sold out, and we expect to expand available tickets for next year's Gala: Parry on the Pacific at the same venue on September 12, 2026. We hope to see you there.
