Washington Park Celebrates 125th Anniversary

A Free community celebration for one of Denver's favorite spots

Denver’s beloved Washington Park is celebrating their 125th anniversary on Wednesday, on Wednesday, August 7, and you’re invited to the party! What started out as a frontier settlement has blossomed into a blooming oasis of trees and gardens that welcomes a million visitors per year. 

Enjoy the following activities (most of which will be taking place at the Boat House):

- Free day at the Rec Center
- 10:00 am: Loop Road Walk with dog parade and South High Drum Line
- 10:00 am - 1:00 pm Copsicle Cruisers popsicles 
- 10:00 am -2:00 pm: Shift 1 Cycling without Age: 3 trishaws with pilots offer rides around the Boat House loop road and another shift between 2:00 -7:00 pm
- 11:00 am -5:00 pm: Displays of Washington Park History, Education Booths
- 11:00 am -1:00 pm, and 5:00 - 7:00 pm: Food Trucks
- 11:00 am -3:00 pm: Rocky Mountain Wildlife Alliance with live animals
11:00-4:00: Public Voting on Photography Contest finalists

Other Park activities include:
11:00 am -5:00 pm: Eugene Field House Garden tours, park scavenger hunts, tennis clinics, and lawn bowling instruction
5:00 pm: Dignitaries arrive, announce contest winners of Photography and Essay Contests
5:30 -7:30 pm: Musical entertainment
