Run For The Roses

In honor of this month's tradition of gathering friends and family to watch The Kentucky Derby, we offer this aptly-named cocktail as the perfect drink to sip and serve while you cheer on your favorite horse. Enjoy! 

Ingredients:

8 mint leaves muddled
1.5 ounces Peach Tea Infused Bourbon (see recipe below)
.5 ounces fresh squeezed lime juice
.5 ounces Apricot Liqueur
.25 ounces Simple Syrup

Method:

Combine all ingredients in a Julep Tin and Top with Crushed Ice. Garnish with 1 dash Angostura Bitters, apricot, and a mint bouquet. 

Peach Tea Infused Bourbon:

In a closable container, add one bottle of bourbon (I prefer Knob Creek) and 4 grams loose leaf peach tea. Seal container and chill in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Pour infusion back into bourbon bottle, straining out the tea leaves. Use for up to 2 weeks (keep refrigerated).
