When Gabriel and Aleeta met while working at a salon in 2015, an instant connection blossomed into a great friendship, and soon evolved into a dream of opening their own salon: House of Hebe. Both Gabriel and Aleeta have worked as hairstylists in Bellevue for almost 25 years and bonded over a similar love for fashion, style and design, and overall aesthetic when their careers eventually crossed paths. “It was a pivotal point in my professional journey,” shares Aleeta. “We were driven by a shared vision for greater career control and a better future for our families, so we decided to open our own salon.”

“It was just time for us to do our own thing and not have to rely on someone else,” adds Gabriel. “We took the reigns on finding a new home for our business and were open to anyone following us on our new journey.” Gabriel and Aleeta wanted to create a space that was unlike any other salon. “I personally get so bored with how safe some salons play it,” says Gabriel, “so I loved the idea of creating the most un-salon-like salon.” They designed custom capes and robes with green and pink branding and chose eclectic paint colors and wallpaper to decorate their new space. Just before the pandemic in 2020, they signed their lease and began the buildout, opening the doors to House of Hebe on January 4th, 2021.

“House of Hebe Salon helps elevate the local beauty standards,” Aleeta explains. “We are dedicated to offering personalized haircutting and coloring experiences that are tailored to a client’s unique needs and preferences, and are committed to enhancing their experiences with specialized recommendations crafted to align with their individual hair and beauty objectives.”

Gabriel adds, “We want to create an experience for our clients. We specialize in delivering beautiful, honest results for their beauty needs, and promote authenticity and kindness. We want every client to leave our salon as a raving fan with a big smile on their face, excited for their next appointment!”

Aleeta is passionate about her work and finds nothing more fulfilling than seeing her clients delighted with their reflections and expressing their true selves. “If a style makes them feel confident and beautiful, then we have done our part,” she says.

Gabriel loves watching people interact and share stories in their space. “We try to create a high-end vibe in terms of look and customer service while remaining approachable in the sense that you can roll out of bed and come in wearing sweats and just be you,” he says. He also loves training their new stylists and watching them grow in their business and their craft.

House of Hebe actively engages with local initiatives, supporting community-wide events and contributing to the vibrant culture of Old Bellevue. “We love this neighborhood so much,” shares Gabriel. “We have donated services to local high schools and police departments, and have collaborated with local businesses as well.”

Both Gabriel and Aleeta are highly motivated by their families. Gabriel loves spending time with his kids in his free time – and working with his son who now works at the front desk in the salon. Aleeta’s 15-year-old daughter, Harlow, inspires her to be a well-rounded role model in having it all – “a loving family, supportive friends, and a successful business. I strive to show her the importance of balance, health, and gratitude for each day’s experiences.”
