Bellevue LifeSpring’s Step Up to the Plate Benefit Luncheon Celebrates Community Impact

This past April, more than 650 Bellevue community members, colleagues, and local leaders gathered together for Bellevue LifeSpring’s Step Up to the Plate Benefit Luncheon. The luncheon was an inspiring afternoon dedicated to raising awareness and preventing hunger and homelessness for Bellevue children experiencing poverty.

Thanks to the generous support of attendees and sponsors, including Presenting Sponsor Amazon, the event raised more than $550,000. These funds are already making an immediate impact, ensuring families stay housed and children have the nutrition and stability they need to thrive.

The program featured an insightful and informative panel discussion with community leaders: Bellevue School District Superintendent Dr. Kelly Aramaki, Bellevue LifeSpring Executive Director Jennifer Fischer, and Bellevue School District Chief Operating Officer Dr. Heather Sánchez. Their firsthand perspectives highlighted the daily realities faced by Bellevue students and families living in poverty, and underscored the critical role of community support in addressing complex challenges.

The luncheon also marked an important moment for Bellevue LifeSpring, as guests were introduced to the Family Support Program—a new addition to the organization’s core programs that further strengthens support for families. This holistic, relationship-centered program is designed to go beyond one-time assistance, providing individualized support that helps families navigate challenges, access resources, and build long-term stability.

A highlight of the afternoon was the presentation of the Trish Carpenter Volunteer of the Year Award to West Bellevue resident and Bellevue LifeSpring One Circle Member Randi Brazen.

Thank you to all the West Bellevue community members who stepped up and showed what it truly means to care for your community. Your compassion is building a stronger, more hopeful Bellevue for every child.
