Points 4th Recap!
Each year, the Points 4th of July celebration has become a cherished weekend bursting with community pride. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from the 2025 festivities.

Point-to-Point Paddle at Cozy Cove
To kick off the 4th of July weekend, paddling enthusiasts gathered at Istvan’s Landing for a fun and relaxed Point-to-Point Paddle. With a mix of stand-up paddleboards and kayaks, the group launched into the calm waters of Cozy Cove for an afternoon of exploration and connection.
The weather was perfect, the water serene, and the company lively. Participants paddled at their own pace, enjoying the scenic shoreline and taking in the peaceful surroundings. Whether reconnecting with familiar faces or making new friends on the water, the event offered a wonderful opportunity to share a love for non-motorized water adventures and was a refreshing way to start the holiday!
Family Bingo
Yarrow Point Town Hall offered the perfect retreat from the summer sun with a crowd-pleasing session of family Bingo. Inside, the clink of coins and the familiar call of “B-I-N-G-O!” filled the air as players took their seats. With bingo cards in hand and a growing pot of change on the line, the room buzzed with friendly competition. Kids leaned in as each number was drawn, hoping to be the one to shout “Bingo!” and claim a prize. It was a nostalgic, screen-free delight that brought the community together for simple, shared laughs and a bit of luck.
Party in the Park
That evening, the celebration continued outdoors with a lively Party in the Park at Yarrow Point Town Hall. Families and friends gathered to kick off the long weekend with good food and great company. A taco truck and ice cream cart drew crowds while lawn games, a bounce house, and music kept the energy high well into the evening. With spontaneous dancing and plenty of mingling, it was the perfect prelude to the patriotic fun still to come the next day.
Pickleball Tournament
Over the course of the weekend, spirited teams rallied at the Hunts Point Courts for the annual Pickleball Tournament. With a mix of seasoned players and enthusiastic newcomers, the round-robin matches delivered plenty of quick volleys, surprise wins, and lots of laughter along the sidelines. As bracket play narrowed the field, the action heated up, culminating in an exciting final showdown on the Yarrow Point Court. Neighbors packed the sidelines to cheer on the semifinalists and finalists, adding a festive buzz that matched the spirit of the holiday weekend.
From the first serve to the final point, the tournament showcased not just skill, but community at its best. Congrats to the winners, Zack AhYat and Glen Peterson, who earned not just a trophy, but serious bragging rights to last until next year!
Parades and the Family Picnic
This lighthearted weekend wouldn’t be complete without a pet parade, kids’ parade, and picnic celebration! Cheers from family and neighbors lined the parade route, turning the morning into a feel-good spectacle of red, white, and blue. Young participants lined up with festively decorated bikes, trikes, and scooters, ready to roll. As the crowd cheered them on, the pedal-powered procession added a burst of energy and color to the morning, reminding everyone why this neighborhood tradition is so beloved.
The celebration continued at the Yarrow Point Fountain with a Family Picnic, where classic treats like hot dogs and ice cream hit the spot, while face painters and balloon artists worked their magic. Laughter filled the air and neighbors lingered, soaking in the sun and the sense of community that makes the Fourth on the Points so special.
