How did you end up in Western Springs?
We moved to LaGrange when our oldest daughter Anna was 1 year's old. We then stayed in the LaGrange area until our youngest Tim was 6 and then found our home in Western Springs. All three kids attended Lyons Township High School.

Andrew - University of Chicago undergraduate and University of Chicago Booth School of Business for MBA, Halle went to Cornell University, Bachelors in Communications, Oldest Anna went to University of Georgia and studied Finance. Lauren graduated University of Tennessee and studied Human Resource Management. Tim is a sophomore at The Ohio State University

What business/organization do you (or your family) own/operate/work for?
Andrew works for Wells Fargo, Halle McCormick is the creator of Brain Body Fitness, LLC. This unique fitness program combines brain challenges while completing an exercise in an effort to reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease.
Best place(s) to visit in town?
We love to enjoy the neighborhood restaurants like Hillgrove, Ella's and Petite Vie with family and friends. And, of course, we love Oberweis.
What do you love most about Western Springs?
We love the easy access to the train for work and to enjoy Chicago! We also love the wonderful Western Springs downtown area. We love the beautiful tree lined streets and homes. As avid pickleball players, we love the access to play pickleball at both Northeast park and Springrock park. You can find us playing Pickleball almost daily! Lastly, we all love being close to friends that are part of the LT community!
Activities and hobbies:
Andy and Halle both love playing pickleball! In addition to pickleball Andy is an avid golfer and snow skier and Halle plays competitive tennis and loves Mahjung.
Favorite vacation spot? What's on your travel bucket list?
As I (Halle) grew up in Ohio, we have always loved the Lakeside/Marblehead area in Ohio. We love visiting Lake Oconee in Georgia. We want to continue travelling as much as we can and visiting areas far and wide. I think Japan is on our bucket list.
What teams do you and your family cheer for?
As a family we all cheer for the Green Bay Packers! In terms of college football we are a house divided. With both girls going to SEC schools there is a healthy rivalry. So, we cheer for The Georgia Bulldogs, The Tennessee Volunteers and The Ohio State Buckeyes!
Favorite restaurants/meals?
We enjoy all the local restaurants!
Favorite movies, TV shows, and music?
I love all genres of music and enjoy selecting music for the best class experience for my participants. We all love small venues for concerts and are drawn to country/folk style music.
Aside from necessities, what’s one thing your family could not go a day without?
I would say we can't go a day without moving our bodies. We are an active family!

Where is your business located?
Halle teaches Brain Body Fitness programming weekly at The Local Gym in LaGrange. She also leads Mindful Movement programming weekly at First Congregational Church of Western Springs for Optwell. Optwell is a non-profit organization providing free health and wellness services in the western suburbs. In these classes, she focuses on challenging the body and mind to improve physical health and brain health.
What goods/services do you provide?
As a group fitness instructor for 23 years, Halle leads group fitness classes at several locations in the western suburbs but mainly does her personal training and Brain Body Fitness programming at The Local Gym in LaGrange. Halle is on the Advisory Board for Optwell and is one of the fitness leads for the Mindful Movement programming. She leads this weekly on Thursdays from 9:30 - 10:30am at The First Congregational Church in Western Springs. She has also accepted the role of Chairperson for the upcoming Optwell Fall pickleball fundraiser on 10/22 from 6:00 - 9:00pm at Netgame. She is also a keynote speaker at Optwell's "Caring for Caregivers" event on November 4th.
What differentiates your business/organization from the competition?
As an Alzheimer's Fitness Specialist and creator of Brain Body Fitness, LLC, Halle's programming is unique in that she focuses on the importance of both physical health and brain health. She coaches participants to understand that they are never too young or old to focus on both aspects of your health in an effort to fight Alzheimer's and other dementias and live a long, healthy, joyful life. Her mission: Train Today, Protect Tomorrow!
