When the previous owner retired two years ago, the practice entered a new chapter under dedicated leadership committed to maintaining its strong reputation in the community.

That leadership comes from Dr. Agata A. Bartels, who proudly stepped into the role of owner and orthodontist after nearly a decade of practicing as an associate. Raised in Queens, New York, she developed the strong work ethic and determination that have guided her career. She attended the University of Pittsburgh for dental school and completed her orthodontic residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2014. From early in her training, Dr. Bartels knew her ultimate goal was to one day own and operate her own orthodontic practice—a vision that ultimately led her to Apple Tree Orthodontics.

Dr. Bartels and her family moved to Bedford, New Hampshire, in the summer of 2019 after her husband, Christian, accepted a position as a urologist at Manchester Urology Associates. Since then, they have fully embraced life in Southern New Hampshire and are proud to call it home. Together, they are raising their three daughters—twins Sophia and Adeline, age 8, and Quinn, age 7—along with their energetic German Shorthaired Pointer. As an active family, they appreciate all that the area has to offer. Their daughters play travel soccer with the Bedford Athletic Club and participate in activities like ballet, making the most of the vibrant community.
