Post Oak Puppy Treats

Entrepreneurs Jolie Gould, Allison Gould, and Brooke Palmley

Starting a business can be a daunting task. However, for a few Fair Oaks Ranch elementary schoolers, it was an adventure they took on with eagerness and determination. In October of 2025, Jolie Gould, Allison Gould, and Brooke Palmley began baking and selling organic dog treats to neighbors. This started as a way Allison could earn money for a horse she had her eye on at the time, with sister Jolie and neighbor Brooke pitching in their ideas. Soon they came up with Post Oak Puppy Treats.

“We had made these dog treats for our dog we used to have that passed away,” said mom Ann Gould. “We used to give them to our neighbors.”

The three girls decided to start baking these same treats. They walked around the neighborhood to sell them, and in less than an hour they had sold every bag. They realized these treats were so popular that they could keep selling them, not only to make money, but to support a local animal shelter, Charming Pet Rescue.

Jolie, Allison and Brooke began to donate their treats to the shelter to provide the dogs with something nutritious and enjoyable that they could not have had otherwise. This donation to Charming Pet Rescue blossomed into a regular contribution that blessed those pups who were waiting to find their forever home. Later, Post Oak Puppy Treats became a youth sponsor for a 5k in the Sablechase neighborhood. Here they sold their treats and took donations for the pet shelter. Jolie even ran the 5k, too!

These treats benefit the dogs because they use an organic, four-ingredient recipe. They include none of the artificial fillers or preservatives that common dog treat brands use, which can be harmful to a dog’s digestion and overall health. However, using fresh, high-quality ingredients can be tricky, as it shortens the shelf life.

This is where Jolie, Allison, and Brooke faced a challenge: the treats only lasted a few days before they went bad. They sold most of their treats the day they were baked, but customers wished they would stay fresh longer. So, the girls tried out a dehydrating method that extended the freshness by several weeks. They now offer both the original soft treats, which are stored in the fridge, and dehydrated treats, which can last longer and be stored at room temperature.

These young entrepreneurs are continuing to grow their business in every way they can. Thanks to the many episodes of Shark Tank Jolie and Allison have watched, they have learned strategies for maximizing their profit while weighing in the expenses of their ingredients and other supplies. The girls have also worked to spread the word about their business, utilizing Facebook and word of mouth, for the most part.

With all the decisions made and initiative taken, Jolie, Allison, and Brooke have learned that they enjoy deciding their own hours and being their own boss. They have also excelled at saving the profit from their sales with a plan to invest in new signs and supplies for the business. They have also used their earnings to buy each other gifts with their own money for the first time. Occasions such as these make this experience even more valuable to them.

The girls have cherished the memories made together, singing in the kitchen while baking the treats and working as a team to reach their goals. They have also greatly appreciated the kindness and support from their customers.

“The community of Fair Oaks has just been so sweet and good to them, really supporting and encouraging them as young entrepreneurs,” said Julie.

Post Oak Puppy Treats began as a simple way to earn money for a horse, but it grew into something much more. Jolie, Allison, and Brooke have built a business that connects them with the community, teaches responsibility, and shows them the value of hard work and generosity.
