Ridgefield Main Street Program

Connecting Community

Ridgefield High School Baseball Team, 1956

Teamwork creates communities, and downtowns connect them.  One of Ridgefield’s strongest communities celebrates baseball!  We have attended the Little League opening day ceremonies, cheered on the Spudders at the High School, and now we have our very own college-age, wood bat league team — the Raptors!  Prior to the opening of the first season in 2019, General Manager Gus Farah said, “The way we connect to the Ridgefield community is through downtown.”  Ridgefield Main Street is proud to partner with the Raptors, donating Main Street Moola as prizes for between-inning challenges at the games and hosting Main Street Day at the game and downtown and our C-Tran/Raptors Downtown Tailgate days.  We will host four C-Tran/Downtown Tailgate events this summer, beginning on June 4.  Parking at the RORC is limited.  Parking and free C-Tran bus service are available on these dates from the Port of Ridgefield and downtown to the game and will return you to your car at any time.  We will be gathering before the game in the Skate Park, across from Ridgefield Craft Brewing and El Rancho Viejo, with music, games, and fun!  Ride the bus to the game and get a gift bag with Main Street Moola, an ilani Raptors T-shirt, and a chance to win season tickets and other swag items.
Several organizations are involved in events like these — lots of players working together make it a win for the team!  Downtown Tailgate Days are a great time to discover downtown!
