Yappy Hour Was a Howlin' Good Time!
Gabriel loves the 4-legged guests best
We finally discovered why dogs pull so hard on their leash when they arrive at Dogtopia. They know something we don't. This place is basically a country club for canines.
Instead of our typical neighborhood event, we decided to shake things up a little with our first ever Yappy Hour, where neighbors and their four-legged best friends came together for an evening of wagging tails, new friendships, and enough sniffing to satisfy every dog in Bakersfield.
Family-owned by Gabe, Liz, and Quinn Giesick, Dogtopia is far more than a doggy daycare. Their spacious playrooms are thoughtfully designed for pups of every size, complete with enrichment activities, a spa room for grooming services, and a team that genuinely treats every guest like family.
While the dogs made new friends, the humans weren't neglected either. We transformed one of Dogtopia's giant playrooms into our own neighborhood gathering spot with appetizers and a wine, beer, and spirits bar, where family friend John happily kept the human tails wagging.
Meanwhile, Claudia and Jonathan from Frosty Fun Wagon served up irresistible pup cups while introducing neighbors to adoptable dogs through their rescue partnership.
Add great music, plenty of laughter, and dozens of happy pups, and it quickly became obvious this event had gone to the dogs ... in good way, of course.
The evening was such a hit that several neighbors booked future stays for their furry family members before they even left. And, yes, they offer overnight stays, too!
If you've never toured Dogtopia, stop by sometime. Just be warned ... your dog may never want to come home. And if you do visit, be sure to tell them you read about them in Greet Seven Oaks!
